We then travel on to see the original site of the palace and tour discussing the archeological findings of the place and look at maps of the original layout. Followed by a visit to site of another royal palace. Visiting the actual sites gives true perspective on the importance of place in siting these palaces. To end this fascinating day we will travel to Lindisfarne, the Holy Isle to visit the home of the Lindisfarne Gospels and the bringing of Celtic Christianity from Iona, pivotal in the history of this time and tour Anglo-Saxon archeological dig areas. .
